2021 NFTE DC Metro Virtual Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Semi Finals Judging
The culminating event of every NFTE program is the Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. You are invited to attend this annual celebration and business pitch competition event as a member of the NFTE entrepreneurial community.
This Challenge consists of two rounds, one of which will take place during the week of May 19th, 2021. The semi final round will take place from Wednesday, May 19th through Friday, May 21st. The top businesses will move on to the final found, which will take place the following week with the winner being announced by Thursday, June 3rd. The top two Washington Metro Regional winners will advance to the National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in October 2021. The National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge is presented by EY with support from Mary Kay, Inc..

Your Role
As a judge, you'll volunteer using our online business plan competition platform called ReviewR. You will be assigned 3-5 student business plans to review (pitch decks, executive summaries, and pitch videos) and determine which offer the most innovative solution to a real world problem and demonstrates a student’s strong entrepreneurial mindset. Using our rubric form, you will score each presentation and also provide constructive feedback for students on their business plans and presentation skills. You will have 3 days to complete your review of the student businesses.
Please note that while you'll sign up a 3-hour time slot for Wednesday, May 19th, you will have the until close of business on Friday, May 21st to complete you're scoring.
- Time commitment: 1-2 hours over 3 days, including orientation and platform training; you'll have 2 business days for completing your scoring
- Tech requirements: Computer and strong internet connection
- How to prepare: NFTE staff will provide you with a guide for the Reviewr platform and judge orientation which includes review of student business pitch templates and scoring rubric
